Thacher Island’s North Tower Lighthouse

January 16, 2012
The Thacher Island North Tower Lighthouse off the coast of Rockport, Massachusetts.

Thacher Island’s North Tower Lighthouse as seen from Loblolly Cove

Located just off the coast of Rockport, Massachusetts, is Thacher Island. Designated a National Historic Landmark, Thacher Island is home to the nation’s last operating twin lighthouses.

One of my favorite spots to view Thacher Island is from Loblolly Cove. It is from there that I took this shot of the
124-foot tall granite North Tower Lighthouse.
