Cox Reservation in Black & White

Black and White image of the Cox Reservation Building in Essex, Massachusetts

Cox Reservation B&W

For years I’ve driven right past the Cox Reservation on Rt. 133 in Essex, Massachusetts. Finally, I decided to satisfy my curiosity of this Essex County Greenbelt Associationproperty. With camera in hand, I walked the building grounds and found this pleasing angle that fulfilled my creative side.

Generally I don’t like to shoot directly at a building, for the result is typically flat and one dimensional. However, there is an exception to every rule. In this particular case, I liked the shape of the tree in the front of the building. It alone was eye catching. Couple that with the roof line titling one way, and the ground tilting the other, and… viola! Flat became interesting. Converting to black & white, well, that sealed the deal.
