Sandhill Cranes Catch Me By Surprise!

Sandhill cranes in frost covered field in Newbury, Massachusetts

Sandhill Cranes

Mother Nature has a way of surprising you when you least expect it. Trust me, no one was more surprised than
I to come across these two sandhill cranes early one frosty morning. They were certainly the last thing I expected
to see.

I was on my way back home from a sunrise shoot on Plum Island when I crossed paths with these two beauties.
The funny thing is that it wasn’t the first time I had encountered them. You have to understand — sandhill cranes in Massachusetts is a rare event! That’s what made this encounter so extraordinary.
