That’s One “Great House” at the Crane Estate

April 2, 2012

The Crane Estate mansion at Castle Hill

The Crane Estate at Castle Hill is located in Ipswich, Massachusetts. This National Historic Landmark rests on 165 carefully designed and well-manicured acres. It also features one spectacular home. Known as the “Great House,” the 59-room Crane Estate mansion is truly a grand place. It’s hard to believe that this majestic structure was originally created as a summer retreat.

I was fortunate this winter day to have been given the photographer’s gift of beautiful weather and an interesting cloud pattern. Both worked nicely together to highlight and frame this regal home.
