The Boston Skyline At Night

The Boston Skyline at Night

Reflected in the Charles River

A “NERD’s-Eye” View

As I was leaving a meeting at the Microsoft New England Research and Development Center (NERD) on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, Massachusetts, I came face to face with the beautiful reflection of the Boston skyline in
the Charles River.

A nearly full moon — diffused by an interesting cloud pattern — was everything a photographer could hope for. While I
was excited to have my camera in my car, I soon realized I didn’t have my tripod with me. What to do, what to do…

I took a quick look around and realized my steady hands were about to be tested. So with a deeply held breath, I braced
myself against the walkway railing and took this shot.

No caffeine withdrawal for this photographer. Steady hands prevailed!

What an amazing sight. Everything a photographer could hope for indeed! Probably wouldn’t even be able to tell there was no tripod involved if you hadn’t said so. Nicely done!
